This week I watched a documentary on BBC4-The Dark Lords of Hattusha as part of the BBC`s Lost Cities of the Ancients series and thoroughly enjoyed it and I will give credit to the BBC in that they allowed the documentary maker to explain how the Indo-European origins of the Hittites was discovered via the deciphering of their cuneiform writings. However the parallels that they appeared to make with the Third Reich were more than obvious although they did not name Germany. It is clear to me from the title of this episode-Dark Lords that this was their likely intention!
